Business Strategy
Our strategy
Lipoxen develops and commercialises high-value, differentiated protein, vaccine and anti-cancer drug product candidates. The company’s strategy is to identify product candidates and to take them from an early stage of development into clinical trials.
At the appropriate stage of clinical development, Lipoxen outlicenses these protein, vaccine and anti-cancer drug product candidates to a partner. Partners are selected according to their ability to complete late phase clinical trials, obtain relevant regulatory approvals, manufacture the products and market them effectively.
Lipoxen’s three main technologies, PolyXen®, ImuXen® and VesicALL® are used as a platform for the company to:
- Develop its own protein, vaccine and anti-cancer new product candidates
- Co-develop new product candidates with partners
- Enable partners to improve their proprietary products
- Help partners to manage their product lifecycles more effectively
Our business model
Lipoxen maximises the efficiency of its pharmaceutical development operations by outsourcing non-core activities. Product candidates are outlicensed to partner companies with the relevant expertise in the testing, manufacturing or marketing of protein, vaccine and anti-cancer drug products.
Through strategic partnerships with some of the world’s leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Lipoxen is able to identify product candidates with significant market potential, co-develop new product candidates and find new ways to improve protein, vaccine and anti-cancer therapeutics drug performance. Current Lipoxen partners include Amgen Inc., Genetech Inc., Genzyme Inc., Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, the Serum Institute of India Limited and Baxter Healthcare Corporation.
This partnership strategy allows Lipoxen to focus its human and capital resources on its internal research and development operations. These include proof-of-concept studies on new protein, vaccine and anti-cancer drug product candidates, early stage clinical development, and the servicing of agreements with partners for the co-development of new products.
